Michter’s Distillery Releases 2026 Legacy Series Whiskeys
References: webdisclosure
Michter’s Distillery has announced the April release of the 2026 editions of its Legacy Series whiskeys — Shenk’s Homestead Kentucky Sour Mash Whiskey and Bomberger’s Declaration Kentucky Straight Bourbon. Both of these expressions are produced in limited quantities.
Michter’s Distillery's Legacy Series whiskeys honor the lineage of a Pennsylvania distillery originally founded in 1753. The Shenk’s Homestead release incorporates caramel malted barley to introduce notes of caramel bread pudding alongside a rye-forward profile. This expression utilizes cooperage made from 24-month air-dried French oak from the Vosges forest alongside 60-month air-dried American oak to shape its character. The Bomberger’s Declaration features Chinquapin oak combined with Hungarian oak, both air-dried for three years and subjected to custom toasting and charring processes. The goal of this process was to create layers of chocolate richness that complement the cherry and spice elements typically associated with Chinquapin oak.
