Aged Bourbon Tiers

Wilderness Trail Debuts Three Distinct Spirits

The Kentucky distillery Wilderness Trail has introduced a new, aged tier to its single barrel program. The release consists of three distinct spirit expressions, each matured for six years.

Wilderness Trail's latest offerings include bourbons with different grain compositions — one emphasizing wheat and another with a higher rye content — alongside a straight rye whiskey. All of these expressions are presented at their natural cask strength without chill filtration.

Wilderness Trail highlights its use of specific production techniques — from the distillery's sweet mash process to utilizing proprietary yeast strains and a Level 4 Alligator Char barrel profile. Company leadership positions this release as representing an optimal maturation point for their products, providing consumers a choice between softer, wheat-influenced characteristics and the more pronounced spicy notes associated with rye.
