Michter's Distillery Debuts Its Latest Sour Mash Whiskey Expression

— February 12, 2026 — Marketing
Michter's Distillery has announced the forthcoming shipment of the 2025 Edition of its Celebration Sour Mash Whiskey, an extraordinarily rare blend composed from only seven barrels of the distillery's aging stock — four Kentucky Straight Rye and three Kentucky Straight Bourbon casks. This production run will yield a global total of just 315 bottles, each presented at 115.2 proof and carrying a suggested United States retail price of $6,000 dollars.

The availability of the 2025 Edition of its Celebration Sour Mash Whiskey release marks only the fifth time since the expression's 2013 debut. Prior additions appeared in 2016, 2019, and 2022. The 2025 bottling contains whiskey ranging from more than 12 years of age to 30. The distillery's Master Distiller, Dan McKee, and Master of Maturation, Andrea Wilson, have deliberately orchestrated this composition to achieve a specific flavor architecture where profound oak influence from the oldest barrels harmonizes with the more delicate contributions of the younger ryes and bourbons.
