Animalistic Pencil Carvings

The Last Elephant and Raven by Diem Chau are Miniature Sculptures

The last elephant and raven by Diem Chau are two new incredible animal sculptures that are carved from graphite pencil tips. The last elephant creation was inspired after Diem Chau saw pictures of endangered species being killed by Jimmy John.

Diem created this sculpture to speak out against animal cruelty -- it even includes the elephant's shadow in the sculpture. The raven and the sun creation is based off of an old American folktale where the Raven provided light to the world by stealing the Sun.

These delicate, tiny creations show the amazing talents of Diem Chau, and she has captured them using her 17-55mm lens. It is truly remarkable that these realistic sculptures of animals were created at the tip of a pencil.
