Martin Pierce Custom Decorative Hardware, which is based on the creative genius and indefatigable design work ethic of Martin Pierce, has launched a range of bronze sculptures that is inspired by the world of insects.
These particular bronze sculptures effectively render artistic interpretations of insects as well as humans, although what makes this such a unique creative venture and visual endeavor is the fact that the scale of the creatures has been reversed, with the insects depicted as being large and the humans tiny by comparison.
In a press release celebrating these bronze sculptures, Pierce, who began his craft as a wood carver and has since expanded to furniture and door hardware among other pieces, states that "the reversed scale of humans to insects together with other inter specie variations has effectively removed the physical basis for one species to dominate and exploit another."
