The Kentish Wine Vault is designed by Foster + Partners to disguise itself in the surrounding landscape. The Kentish Wine Vault is set to be built in the village of Cuxton in northwest Kent, England. According to the firm, the building design will put the Kent region "at the heart of the English wine industry."
The design includes onsite vineyards and winemaking facilities, which a large curved green roof will top. Moreover, Foster + Partners hopes to create a zero-carbon operation. The goal is to build a roof that minimizes the building's visual impact and supports local biodiversity. In addition, the winery will feature a visitor center and a restaurant and coffee shop to provide guests with a well-rounded experience.
