For Easter this year, Cadbury devised an interactive Easter egg hunt on social media via a Facebook 360 video.
The 'Cadbury Live Egg Hunt' gave fans in Australia the chance to participate in an online egg hunt by tuning into a one-hour post to search for Cadbury Easter eggs in a boldly colored, animated virtual environment. When a Facebook user spotted an egg, they were instructed to be the first to comment for their chance to win real chocolates from Cadbury. As a result, more than 70,000 comments were collected from egg hunters with the livestream campaign.
The campaign Ogilvy Melbourne launched for Cadbury succeeded in marrying the charm of the classic Easter egg hunt with 2D animation and social media for an experience that appealed to chocolate lovers of all ages.
