Tesla Motors Inc. recently converted many of its existing stores into interactive automotive shops. While purchasing a new vehicle is often a routine affair, the experience is very different for those who are buying their first electric vehicle. The new Tesla stores are designed to walk consumers through the process of purchasing their first electric car.
The newly renovated stores are devoted to telling the Telsa story and making the company more accessible for customers. The up-scale stores are outfitted with interactive displays that focus on four major themes: safety, charging, autopilot features and dual motors. The displays make it easier for consumers to understand how an electric vehicle differs from a regular car. The overall goal is to help Tesla move beyond tech-savvy drivers to reach a more mainstream audience.
The interactive displays demonstrate how companies can use new technology to make their product less intimidating to uninformed customers.
