The instant listening app, Spotify Stations has been released on iOS in Australia. The Stations app differs from Spotify’s conventional app in that it takes on a minimalist interface. In the Stations app, users scroll through playlists being presented in large font, instead of utilizing the search bar like the original Spotify app.
The Stations design was created to closely resemble a radio listening experience. On Stations, users can immediately listen to playlists instead of having to create their own playlists, where users can thumbs up or down on songs to personalize existing playlists.
The Stations app had an initial release on Android in Australia in January of 2018, over a year before it’s iOS release. The initial release was regarded as an experiment and its expansion to iOS will allow Spotify to receive more feedback from users.
