You may think of tahini paste as something that only belongs in shawarma and falafel sandwiches, but this tahini hot chocolate recipe -- brought to you by the folks at Bon Appetit -- clearly proves otherwise. This recipe infuses hot chocolate with the sesame seed tahini paste, a popular ingredient in Middle Eastern, North African and Greek cuisines.
To create your tahini hot chocolate, begin by heating two cups of almond milk and a couple of tablespoons of agave syrup in a small saucepan and whisk to dissolve the syrup. You'll want to use unsweetened almond milk here. Once the liquid is steaming, throw in 3 tablespoons of tahini paste and an ounce and a half of chopped bittersweet chocolate.
Whisk until the liquid is smooth and creamy, pour into a mug and enjoy!
