Helle Mardahl Designs Lamps Inspired by Sweet Childhood Memories

Danish designer Helle Mardahl is introducing her latest collection of lamps as 'Candy' -- which was the main inspiration behind the range. She tapped back to her childhood memories at candy stores and her dreams of owning one of her own. The lamps resemble giant shiny pieces of candy and are designed to bring back the experience of visiting confectionary stores. Mardahl does this through the glossy textures and captivating colors to recall childlike anticipation.

The Candy collection is comprised of a range of different sizes and shapes, based on the different candies that can be found in stores, which are referred to as "bonbonnières." Each piece is hand-blown by Mardahl herself and she ensures that each one boasts its own imperfection for a unique touch. Swaying from perfect spheres, she created blob-like structures to give off a more natural look. The lighting pieces give off a soft glow through orange, pink, yellow and blue glass.
