The Hangzou East Railway Station is a multipurpose transportation hub in the busy Chinese city. The large station is a heavy traffic area for commuters who are able to reach their destination with railway, underground, over-ground, bus, coach and taxi services.
The modern station reflects the openness of the city through large communal waiting areas and open spaces. The roof of the station spans 280 meters from north to south, using a massive truss system. The curved white roof promotes ideas of futurism with modern and technological design details. The Hangzou East Railway Station's roof also serves as a power source by collecting solar photovoltaic energy which is used to power the entire building.
