The handheld camcorder appeared to have gone the way of the dinosaurs thanks to the smartphone, but this conceptual take on the retro piece of equipment identifies what could be done to modernize it for prosumers of today.
Inspired by the Minolta XL400, the camcorder has been created with a retro aesthetic yet packs all of the essential technology specs of today to make sure it's capable of keeping up with other solutions on the market. The unit has been designed with a series of physical buttons and controls that bring a sense of sensory responsiveness that can't be achieved with traditional touchscreens.
The conceptual handheld camcorder is the design work of Jaewon Choi and PDF Haus.
