The Oak Pass Guest House, designed by Walker Workshop, is constructed out of fire-resistant timber planks.
The home is located in a heavily wooded area of Beverly Hills, California. In fact, the house is surrounded by at least 100 live oak trees, earning its appellation "Oak Pass." The timber planks are offset by a cool concrete material and large glass windows which accommodate the beautiful views and natural light.
The architects' main challenge was to design a house that was sleek, sophisticated and modern, but still felt like a "home." Though the ground floor living areas are expansive, the home retains a rather cozy vibe, proving that spaciousness and intimacy are not mutually exclusive design categories.
