Rubber-Dipped Fixtures

The Guarda Luz Lamp is a Modern Lightbulb with a Twist

Even though the makers of the Guarda Luz Lamp exercised traditional manufacturing practices, the product manages to exude a convincingly contemporary appearance. Glass-blowing techniques produce the beautiful bulbous forms of the light fixtures that become one-of-a-kind creations of the Brazilian studio.

Inspired by the shape of the archetypal lightbulb, Fetiche sculpts its illuminators to assume the same silhouette; however, the difference is the flattening of one side that allows the pieces to stand slanted on their own. Furthermore, the see-through material is coated with an opaque skin, achieved through the dipping of each object into a waxy rubber substance. This serves the purpose of a lampshade.

Afterwards, the electrical components and light source are fed in through the narrow neck of the shell to establish a truly unconventional composition in the Guarda Luz Lamp.
