Grocery store potatoes are usually not given any special treatment when it comes to in-store displays, as the products are typically loosely displayed in bins or packaged in bags stacked atop one another on pallets. But Dutch grocery chain Albert Heyn is giving special treatment to potatoes, as it recently unveiled a new dedicated potato display wall to make it easy for consumers to pick and choose their products of choice.
The detailed in-store grocery display celebrates The Netherlands as a potato country. In collaboration with potato suppliers Leo de Kock and Nedato, Albert Heyn developed new packaging to make different kinds of potatoes for different purposes stand out all the more.
Some of the changes include that all of the products are displayed in transparent UV protective foil packaging, which makes it possible for consumers to see exactly what they'll be purchasing. There are also potatoes with branding that calls out potatoes just for the microwave or oven, as well as the low-calorie AH excellent Colomba potato.
