The Grappler Police Bumper is a safe and controlled way to end high-speed pursuits. The clever law enforcement tool unfolds from the front of the police pursuit vehicle in the midst of a chase and, once the police get close enough to the rear of the criminal's vehicle, it wraps up the rear tires, completely immobilizing them.

While police have been able to use spike strips to render criminals immobile in the past, this requires a large amount of coordinated planning, with police needing to figure out with confidence the criminal's path. The Grappler Police Bumper lets police stop runaway vehicles at any moment, cutting down on the total time spent in a dangerous pursuit.

The Grappler can either tether the police pursuit vehicle to the criminal vehicle to keep it locked down, or if the officers are confident that the car is completely immobilized, it can release the tether without untangling the tires.
