Located in Peckham, London, the new Southerden Patisserie and Cafe is a charming eatery that is a product of collaboration between designer Eley Kishimoto, print design team Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto and interior designer Jason McLean. The cafe, in a space that had previously housed a fading salon, boasts a vibrant maze-like graphic wallpaper on the walls and floors by Eley Kishimoto that is almost dizzying.
The quaint patisserie and cafe features subdued white and black furniture that balances out the busy patterns decorating the walls and floors. The result is a space that functions on many levels, given the burgeoning nature of the Peckham community, allowing the owner to host weekend workshops on a variety of pastry cooking techniques.
