Contemporary artist Koo Jeong A is successful in creating engaging performative art thanks to his glow-in-the-dark skateparks. The South Korean creative's latest work is installed at the Triennale Milano, taking up a sizable chunk of the ground floor of the institution.
Koo Jeong A's glow-in-the-dark skatepark is part of an exhibition series, titled 'Year of Play.' Curated by Julia Peyton-Jones and Lorenza Baroncelli, the collection expands on the "importance of physical interaction in an increasingly digital world." As a result, Koo Jeong A's installation, which is documented under the name of 'OooOoO,' is open to the public for use. While the fluorescent paint ensures different experiences when lights are on and off, the artist also worked with electronic music producer Koreless, who created a special soundtrack for the experience. The music also works in tandem with the lighting system.
