This App is Now Letting Users Create Their Own Geofilters

Snapchat recently announced that it will now allow brands and business to create their own geofilters. Although geofilters began as a way for users to add flair to their photos and videos while visiting different locations, the feature quickly proved popular among Snapchat users. Now the company is opening up its submission page so that anyone can create a custom geofilter.

Although Snapchat already allows neighborhoods of any size to create their own geofilter, business and brands will now have an opportunity to do the same. For a fee, companies can create temporary filters with their logo and other branded graphics. These filters will work for up to 5 million square feet -- the equivalent of several city blocks -- and they can last for anywhere between an hour and 30 days. The cost for each geofilter is determined based on both the size of the geofence and the duration of the filter.

The new feature represents a unique opportunity for companies to increase social media interactions during different events.
