Gutting what was originally a boring and outdated office building, The Design Agency from Toronto completely redesigned the interior of the Generator Hostel in Barcelona, infusing it with a welcoming sense of warmth and excitement.
Lavish interiors are emphasized with dazzling wall designs and artwork, as well as plenty of luxurious furnishings and sculptures in rich hues of bright oranges and russet reds. Most notably, the ceiling is crammed full of over 300 beautifully intricate paper lanterns, a collection created by local artist Julie Potter who drew her inspiration from Barcelona's annual Festa Major de Gracia as well as the vibrant energy and sunlight that Barcelona is known for.
Lively colors and overtures of warmth make the Generator Hostel a welcoming place for new and returning travelers, especially young tourists.
