Rousselot, an industry-leading peptide company, created a new gelatine technology named SiMoGel. SiMoGel was initially shown off at the FiE event, which took place in Paris in 2019. The new technology form Rousselot will accelerate the gelation process of gummies products, which can now take as little as 15 minutes.
Jeff Daelman, the Busines Development Manager for Rousselot, spoke on the potential implications for the new gelatin technology, "The new technology allows functional foods to be scaleable and makes it easier for companies and start-ups to launch collagen gummies."
The company also stated that technology allows manufactures to simplify the process of making functional food, as well as include collagen in products. Collagen is a substance that can help skin health, and strengthen bones and joints.
