The designers of this large loft-style office in Rotterdam took advantage of its high ceilings by building an indoor garden roof. The open-concept office had a large meeting space in the center of the room that was enclosed by glass. The meeting room was positioned in an awkward spot, forcing designers to find a creative way of working around the room.
The solution for the meeting room was to create a lush rooftop garden overlooking the rest of the office. Creating this zen area took advantage of the tremendous vertical space the loft provided. The use of various plants also brings a bit of the outdoors into the otherwise white-covered bland office. A simple staircase was built behind the glass-enclosed meeting space to allow workers to access the garden roof.
