Welded Coin Sculptures

Gabriel Rufete Creates Works of Art with Euros

Gabriel Rufete, an artist and sculptor living and working in San Fulgencio, Spain, works with a myriad of materials when creating his stunning sculptures. It is his use of Euros, however, that has people talking. Carefully layering them to form human busts and abstract silhouettes, Gabriel Rufete has learned to manipulate the coin in ways that convey as much expression as it does an artistic desire.

A graduate from the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at the Porla Polytechnic University of Valencia, Gabriel Rufete has since seen his sculptures displayed in museums around Spain. His attention to detail and obvious passion for his craft have garnered him much-deserved recognition in the art world. Gabriel Rufete is an artist to keep an eye on.
