Located in the German town of Ingelheim Frei-Weinheim, the Funeral Chapel by Bayer & Strobel Architekten boasts captivating design.

The profile of this building showcases an interesting protuberance in the shape of a pyramid. This aesthetically pleasing feature makes for the double level of the chapel and features a narrow skylight to welcome natural light. Architect Peter Strobel says that the design is intended to create "an interior that feels dignified and solemn as well as simple and appropriate to its purpose."

Within the pyramid exist glass facades that provide a view into the private courtyards. With an environment so welcoming of nature, the ideal of solemn peace provides comfort to mourners. This construction is a well thought-out architectural marvel that highlights well thought-out functionality.
