Freda Uses AI Predictions to Send Its Eco-Friendly Subscriptions

The popular subscription model has been adopted by a range of businesses that offer menstrual products for women, but Freda is one that sets itself apart as more than just a source of organic, eco-friendly period care products. Artificial intelligence is a key part of the start-up's subscription service, as Freda uses it to determine the appropriate time for a customer's next box of products to be delivered.

As founder Affi Parvizi-Wayne describes, "Traditional subscription services are all built on a monthly basis which is, 12 per year, as opposed to a menstrual cycle basis (on average 28 days per cycle approximating 13 per year)." Freda's algorithm helps to predict a user's average cycle length over time, since these cycles naturally fluctuate.

A portion of the cost of every monthly subscription is put into worldwide initiatives that address period poverty, such as A Bloody Good Cause, Bloody Good Period, Killi Pads and more.
