Boeing has announced it will collaborate with Kitty Hawk, the flying taxi company. Boeing indicates the efforts will focus on urban air mobility. Both companies share a similar vision on the future of transportation, as well as how that future will fit into the broader context of safety and regulation. Boeing vice president Steve Nordlund has a great deal of optimism regarding the partnership, "Working with a company like Kitty Hawk brings us closer to our goal of safely advancing the future of mobility."
Kitty Hawk has had notable contributions to the urban flying industry with the development of its electric flying taxi. The Kitty Hawk design was titled the Cora and it has completed a number of test flights through New Zealand. The Cora has the ability to fly at speeds of 110 mph, and it can fly at a max elevation of 3,000 feet.
