Imagine being in a small town and seeing a firework ladder suddenly appear in the sky; artist Cali Guo-Qiang delivers shock and awe in a heartfelt art exhibition that quickly disappeared.
Even Led Zeppelin would have a hard time believing that visual artist Cali Guo-Qiang lit what is being called a "stairway to heaven" in the form of a firework display. The 500-meter art exhibition was shot to the heavens with the use of a 6,200 cubic meter helium balloon. The 'Sky Ladder' lasted for two minutes and 30 seconds.
Over a small fishing village in Quanzhou, China, the firework ladder serves as a dedication to the artist's 100 year old grandmother. Fulfilling a childhood dream, the artist hopes to use this as symbolism to start a new journey.
