Stars Playing Themselves

10 Famous Cameos

There are so many glorious examples of people guest staring as themselves in movies and on TV, so we've put together 10 of the best. The UK TV show "Extras" shows how it is done, and seems to have the most fun with their guest stars.

Daniel Radcliffe - Extras

Only Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant would get ‘Harry Potter’ to flick a condom at a Dame. It is so wrong and gets ever funner when he kisses a cast member.

Violent Femmes - Sabrina the Teenage Witch

The awesome Violent Femmes were most certainly Gone Daddy Gone when they appeared as guests in Sabrina the Teenage Witch. No words will describe it, so skip a minute into the clip to get straight to the band. The Violent Femmes also did a cover of the Sponge Bob theme on the DVD extra in which they wore swimsuits. Sadly, Nickelodeon removed the video from YouTube.

The Simpsons - American Idol Parody

The Simpsons judge Simon Cowell on American Idol. I love it but the trousers need to be higher.

Kath & Kel - Dancing With The Stars

Kath & Kel totally rule and pull off this "show dance". Check out Kath’s outfits!

Naomi Campbell on Ugly Betty

Take a look at Naomi's shoes! Regis Philbin And Kelly Ripa also guest starred as themselves.

Bill Gates - Frasier

This is one of my favourites. I think Bill pulls this off brilliantly, and who does not love Kelsey Grammer? Skip to 02:10 to get straight to the Bill Gates action.

Tony Blair - Catherine Tate

This was done for Comic Relief and as much as it pains me to say so, Tony Blair pulls it off.

Chris Martin - Extras

Simply, utterly brilliant. Chris Martin even did a cover version of the theme tune for the credits. It is so close to the bone with all the ‘joke’ promotion.

Kate Moss - Little Britain

Kate Moss as Katie Pollard

Ben Stiller - Extras

My favourite guest out of all the Extras stars - again very close to the bone and brilliant.
