Wood-Shingled Shelters

Clean the Sky - Positive Eco Trends & Breakthroughs

Brigitte by Enrique Illanez Schoenenberger Features Wonderful Woodwork

— January 21, 2011 — Art & Design
Swiss designer Enrique Illanez Schoenenberger has created this wooden shelter that features incredible wood tiling. The shack-like structure creates a private seating area that provides a shelter for people to sit and relax in, all the while presenting a unique and chic facade.

Enrique Illanez Schoenenberger's unique shelter has an exterior that immediately reminded me of a dragon's skin. The technique used to create this shelter is very time and labor-intensive, making it rare to find other modern usage of it. The scaly outer layer is composed entirely of wooden tiles, hand-sewn together to create the magnificent unique look.
