French art designer Atelier YokYok created this magical enclosed walkway using bright blue string. The walkway is in the shape of an 'X.' It can be entered at each of the four points through an arch-shaped entrance. The meeting point in the middle opens up into a garden.
Each archway is laced with blue string that is stretched to meet the next archway. The enclosed walkway was built inside the courtyard of the 16th-century Gothic-style cloister at St Stephen's Cathedral in Cahors, France. The pathways run along the existing paths in the courtyard.
The use of simple materials like blue string and metal archways gives the design an elegant, cohesive flow. This playful walkway presents an art of mystery but the string does not present a solid visual barrier.
