Just because bagels are a traditional baked good doesn't mean they can't benefit from a stylish update in terms of how they're served, and Eli's Market in Manhattan is working to give bagels a luxurious rejuvenation. For this past year's Jewish high holidays, the caterer, deli, and marketplace offered its miniature bagels in a unique formation: stacked.
The stacked mini bagels, which come by the dozen, are filled with the consumer's choice of toppings. Traditional options include cream cheese with either smoked salmon or tomatoes and capers. Eli's Market then places these bagels in stacks thanks to specially made boards. The bagel boards come with three wooden dowels standing vertically, and Eli's Market stacks the bagels around these poles (through a cheeky use of the bagels' holes.)
This unique presentation turns the standard bagel into a luxurious and stylish shareable dish.
