Driverless Grocery Deliveries

Walmart Will Test Autonomous Deliveries in Houston Using Nuro's R1

Walmart will begin to test driverless grocery deliveries in the Houston area. The test will run using Nuro's R1, which is a self-driving car. First, the R1 will be loaded with a grocery order at a Walmart location, following that the autonomous vehicle will drive to the drop off location. Walmart did not indicate how consumers could participate in the test, however, the test is expected to begin within a few weeks.

Walmart credits the new venture to its size and scale, which enables it to push the industry forward.

Nuro and Walmart are collaborating on the driverless grocery deliveries services, and the new venture will allow the organizations to troubleshoot the services. Both companies will look to provide consumers with an extremely convenient way to order groceries.
