Parents are always looking for a way to make meals more exciting for their kids, and these DIY rainbow waffles definitely would do the job. They may look a bit complicated to make, but they are actually quite easy.

Turns out there are not many ingredients for these colorful confections. All you need is food coloring, Bisquick, Ziplock bags, a waffle iron, and a fun attitude. The only real difference between these waffles and others is the method by which you put your multi-colored waffle batter into the waffle iron -- in a spiral pattern.

The chef has paired the DIY rainbow waffles with some whip cream to mimic clouds, and even put a bowl of Lucky Charms at the end of the rainbow.
