Domino's is Experimenting with a 3D-Printed Drone Delivery Service

Restaurant company Domino's recently teamed up with drone delivery service Flirtey to embark on a new commercial partnership to revolutionize the way its customers are able to order food.

The first-ever pizza delivery by drone was successfully conducted in Auckland, New Zealand, a region that has some of the world's most forward-thinking regulations when it comes to drones. As of the end of August, new US drone regulations took shape and according to Flirtey CEO Matt Sweeney, "Soon you will be able to order a Flirtey to deliver your pizza on-demand."

Domino's is one pizza restaurant chain that's continually experimenting with the latest technologies for delivery. Alongside 3D printing, it has also played with everything from emoji-based ordering systems to autonomous robots and bus stop delivery routes.
