Point-of-view is everything when it comes to Damage by Michael Murphy, which -- in a few different angles -- resembles that of an assault rifle. The art installation was painstakingly created using 1200 ping pong balls that were first painted black before being suspended from the ceiling.
Looking at Damage by Michael Murphy straight on looks like nothing more than a sea of floating balls that form nothing in particular. However, taking a step to the side reveals the true nature of the project and allows the power of angles take the reins.
Damage by Michael Murphy is an exercise in sheer talent and attention to detail; if it were not for the artist's constant attention to the grand scheme, the final project would surely not be as pin sharp as it is.
