DAB Studio Transforms a Family Home Kitchen in Zwaag

Dutch interior design firm DAB Studio transforms the kitchen into a family home located in Zwaag, the Netherlands. The ceiling and floors are covered in a single type of wood and the walls and cabinet are then entirely complete in another type of wood for an earthy and neutral look. The floors and ceilings are covered in hand-scraped oak finished with a smoky black oiled finish. The walls and cabinets are then complete with a tropical hardware from west Africa dubbed Afromosia wood.

Co-founders of DAB Studio tell Dezeen "Per the client's request, we wanted to merge the feminine and the masculine vision of their new home, balancing each other out in one curated space. This allowed us to create unique areas in line with our client's habits and interests while imbuing the space with a sense of spaciousness and lightness. In order to merge all elements of the design, it felt important to prioritize the theme of consistency."
