Richard Wilson's De La Warr Pavilion Installation is Unbalanced

Richard Wilson's "Hang On A Minute Lads, I've Got A Great Idea..." installation at England's De La Warr Pavilion is modeled after The Italian Job's closing scene. The blue and red coach bus teeters atop the gallery in a most unusual manner, one that the artist prides as an ode to British creativity and artistic talent.

Wilson distinguishes the critically acclaimed movie as a national treasure. While swerving amid mountains in a truck similar to the one displayed here, actor Michael Caine grappled with how to save his crew and their collection of gold. References to UK life and predicaments are rife throughout the performance, and it is for this reason that the designer decided to replicate this very scenario at the De La Warr Pavilion.
