When a dusty garden shed can make for a perfect playhouse for a child, one can imagine just how excited kids get over this cubby house. Doherty Design Studio has gone above and beyond youngsters' expectations to construct a contemporary kiddie oasis.
The white slat-walled space is sun-filled, thanks to a transparent vaulted roof. Past the pivoting circular doors, children can lounge in a mesh loft, store their toys and books in the colorful shelving and play house in a setting that entirely enchants adults as well.
The Vardo Hut cubby house was made for the Flower & Garden Show in Melbourne, to be auctioned off in support of a charity to stop child homelessness. It's the sort of space that kids will want to move into full-time, and the ideal atmosphere to inspire imaginative play.
