Cocoon-Inspired Galleries

The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art is Distinctively Designed

The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art was designed by Safdie Architects. The awe-inspiring structure features a series of cocoon-like shells raised in between two ponds. The wood and glass pavilions are located in the heart of Bentonville, Arkansas, embracing the beauty of its surrounding landscape.

Aiming to protect the natural beauty of its surrounding topography, Israeli-Canadian architect Moshe Safdie designed this building with sustainability in mind, using only materials local to the site's region.

The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art features a series of suspended spaces, home to galleries, a reception area, café and hospitality services. These smaller structures are brought together with a central multipurpose public space used for a multitude of events. Commissioned by Walmart founder Sam Walton's daughter Alice Walton, this amazing cultural center features free admission.
