G-LAB is a communal living project in Belgium that is executed as a potential "antidote to polarised thinking based on the conviction that we can meet each other in life's nuances." The concept is overseen by TC Plus and is motivated by doctoral research, adding a definite layer of authenticity.
The communal living project centers around a family home with a fluid design that allows it to be private or public, depending on how the owner feels. The structure is combined with a series of curtains that facilitate "fluid boundaries between the spaces." The entire layout of the house, both inside and outside, presents a series of rooms that can be utilized for different activities. For example, the 'Neighbour's Court,' which occupies the front lawn, is intended to bring everyone together, regardless of age or ethnicity.
