@colorschemez is a Twitter bot that randomly posts gradients of three colors as pictures on its social media page, inviting designers looking for inspiration and people who are curious about design. The bot was created by Joe Fox, a graphics editor at the Los Angeles Times, and it draws from a palette of over 5 million colors.
Aside from the rule that each picture contains three colors that stretch from one border of the square to the other, everything about the bot is completely random. The bot doesn't learn which combinations people find more or less pleasing; it's description reads "I'm trying to find colors that go well together. I'm probably not very good at it because I'm a robot with no style." This means that @colorschemez posts equally beautiful and horrific combinations.
