In order to make classical music for kids seem fresh and appealing, the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra created the Class of Classics app.
The orchestra found that it has a strong appeal to people over the age bracket of 65, but it sought to introduce classical music to a new generation. With the help of technology, the Class of Classics app reveals how classical music may already be a part of a child's favorite things, such as in the background music of a beloved cartoon.
The orchestra recorded the soundtracks of cartoon episodes to classical music, making it possible for kids to get a newfound appreciation for the instruments and genre. To hear more beyond what could be played through a mobile device's speakers, the app also connected kids to nearby classical concerts.
