The Clash Royale League Aims to Enhance Mobile eSports Legitimacy

Mobile games have yet to find true success in eSports but Supercell is hoping to change this with the recent formation of the Clash Royale League. Due to Clash Royale's immense popularity, a few tournaments already exist but this new league aims to be the premier competition for the game and already has the backing of several high-profile eSports teams. In an effort to further legitimize the Clash Royale Leauge, Supercell is also offering a $1 million prize to the winning team by the end of the league's season.

Some of the teams set to appear in the Clash Royale League include Cloud9, Team Liquid, Immortals, Team Dignitas and 100Thieves. These teams have held a dominant presence in various eSports leagues for many years and will be required to house their Clash Royale players in LA during the season and provide certain salaries.
