Fumo's Behavioral Design Hopes to Cease Cigarette Butts Litter

This smoking pole is a creative way to deal with cigarette butts litter. Created by design firm ioglo, Fumo is an interactive installation that uses behavioral design to reward smokers who use the ashtray correctly with an audiovisual show. When cigarette butts are properly disposed of, the pole will light up and play a little tune. By making people have fun, the pole is supposed to stop them from contributing to cigarette butts litter and throwing their cigarette on the ground.

The Fumo pole is programmed to play up to 50 different 5 to 10 second long songs with a corresponding light show. 56 little LED bulbs in a variety of colors light up in different ways depending on what ditty is playing.
