As far as chorizo appetizers go, this one takes the cake. Available from Johnsburg, Illinois-based restaurant Epic Deli as a limited time special side, the Chorizo Fundido Poutine infuses the classic French Canadian dish with Mexican style toppings.
Following last week's Chicken Pot Pie Poutine, these chorizo appetizers are also made using waffle fries but go far beyond the typical ingredients of gravy and cheese curds. Instead, the french fries are covered with nacho cheese, roasted pepper cheese sauce, spicy Wisconsin cheese curds and deep fried jalapeno caps in addition to the chorizo. The poutine is also topped with chipotle sour cream and chopped green onion.
