The Children's Home by CERBA is Designed to Reflect Life at Home

Nominated for the 2015 Mies van der Rohe Award, the Children's Home of the Future in Kerteminde, Denmark, is a 24 hour care center for marginalized children and teenagers that encourages sustainable social development.

The Children's Home was specifically designed by Danish design firm CERBA to support the needs of staff who will be working daily with children and young adults struggling with behavioral, social and mental health issues. The facility, made up of four connecting buildings, resembles a home, a conscious choice as the center will be a home for many.

The Children's Home has also incorporated the administrative offices into the basement of the center in order to allow the children to lead as conventional a life as possible.
