Baby food company Yumi is now introducing its 'Chef Series,' which treats young palates to recipes by renowned chefs. The first part of this series introduces baby food recipes crafted by James Beard Award-winning chefs Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo of Jon & Vinny's in Los Angeles.
While baby food is often only seen as a mush of fruit and vegetables, this collaboration aims to please picky babies nine months and up with a plant-based, organic and dairy-free Mushroom Polenta Bolognese. The Italian-inspired bab food meal combines a base of creamy polenta with roasted vegetables for a nutrient-dense meal that will appeal to "little foodies."
Yumi's flavor profile for the savory Mushroom Polenta Bolognese describes that the mushrooms create a "meatiness," while nutritional yeast serves as a flavorful stand-in for cheese.
