Charles Simonds is one artist who is definitely addicted to working with clay. As his material of choice, he has decided to explore the different ways he can manipulate it. As a result, Charles Simonds has created a range of unique sculptures that captures clay's more organic properties.
Inspired by American and African tribal communities, Charles Simonds, who lives and works in New York City, focuses on the biological and natural perspectives of the world to create timeless and abstract pieces that will surely spark conversation. These pieces will be showcased in Charles Simonds' first solo exhibit in New York in 13 years. Titled 'Mental Earth, Growths and Smears,' it will be held at the Knoedler & Company in Manhattan.
