Artfully Dynamic Vessels

Devin Wilde Explores the Function of Ornament with Artful Vessels

Devin Wilde is a ceramicist based in Brooklyn and he explains his creative process, “I find working with clay to be therapeutic; good for the soul. It’s inherently imperfect, also kind and forgiving. It helps me work through perfectionist tendencies that are unkind to myself – more than other mediums I’ve explored.

It’s simply how I want to spend my day.” His work ranges from dynamic art forms to simple silhouettes which speaks for itself. These are all hand-built first by using a blend of clay and an aggregate that is known as 'grog.' This will help with supporting the overall structure, then it would create some texture, preserve the linework, and help with drying.
